Record of Service:
Edward Grant was born on the 15th of November 1911 in Sydney, New South Wales. Edward joined the Militia on the 13th of December 1939 and was allocated service number N71543. On the 12th of December 1943 Edward was taken on strength with the 43rd Australian Water Transport Operating Company and on the 15th of December 1943 transferred to the 2nd A.I.F and re-allocated service number NX190427.
Edward embarked Townsville for N.G on the 24th of March 1944 and on the 1st of June 1944 his unit was redesignated the 43rd Australian Landing Craft Company R.A.E. On the 26th of August 1944 he was accidently injured. On the 11th of September 1945 Edward transferred to the 2nd Australian Ordnance Small Craft Park and embarked for Japan (Voyage only) on the 1st of May 1947. He R.T.A on the 8th of July 1947 and was discharged on the 11th of August 1948.
Edward died on the 27th of April 1989.
