Record of Service:
Edward Albert Noble was born about 1866 in Harrow on the Hill, Middlesex, London. He was working as a Grocer when he enlisted in the British Army on the 18/10/84. He was allocated service number 844 and joined the East Lancashire Regiment.
Promoted Lance Corporal 12/1/86, Corporal 17/3/86 and Colour Sergeant 1/7/88. He served at home from 18/10/84-27/1/93, Gibraltar 28/1/93-29/4/95, home 30/4/95-15/9/97, India 16/9/97-3/3/00 and finally at home from the 4/3/00 until his discharge from the army on 31/12/06.
At the outbreak of WW1, he returned to the East Lancashire Regiment as a Sergeant Major and served with the 7th Battalion in France from the 18th of July 1915. He was discharged to class Z on the 8th of March 1919. Edward was awarded the LSGC in 1905 and his MSM in 1931. He died in Preston on the 5/10/43.
Included is an original photo, leather bound diary, newspaper death notice and 1905 9ct. gold East Lancashire shooting fob. Medals are toned and swing mounted on original ribbons (ribbons have deteriorated and the LSGC is no longer attached).
