    Albert Gough was born about 1893 in Great Yew, Oxfordshire, England. He married Sophia Carter on the 29th of March 1916.

     

    Albert served in the British Army during WW1 and joined the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. He transferred to the 2nd Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was re-allocated service number 29928.

     

    Albert was Killed in Action on the 4th of May 1917, he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
