Daniel Carr was born on the 17th of July 1896 in Childers, Queensland. He enlisted in the A.I.F on the 8th of August 1917 and was allocated service number 7693. He embarked from Sydney on the 31st of October 1917 with the 26th Reinforcements, 15th Battalion.
Daniel disembarked at Devonport on the 26th of December 1917 and on the 19th of February was charged for AWL, receiving 15 days loss of pay. On the 15th of April 1918 he proceeded overseas to France and on the 27th of April 1918 was taken on strength with the 15th Battalion. He was Wounded in Action (GSW right foot) on the 12th of June 1918.
On the 9th of July 1918 he was invalided to the U.K and on the 23rd of September he returned to Australia. He was discharged from the 1 M.D on the 25th of July 1919. Daniel died in Newcastle on the 25th of November 1968.
