Harold Doy was born on the 15th of October 1896 in Southwold, Suffolk, England. He entered the Royal Navy as a Boy on the 15th of October 1906 and was allocated Official Number J18225.
At the outbreak of WW1, Harold was serving on HMS Hibernia where he served until the 15th of October 1917. (In 1915 the Hibernia supported the Gallipoli campaign). He then joined HMS Agamemnon on the 16th of November 1917 where he served until the 20th of March 1919.
Harold was awarded the RN LSGC medal on the 2nd of January 1930 whilst serving on HMS Cumberland and was demobilised from the RN on the 1st of October 1938. He served on the armed merchant cruiser HMS Aurania at the start of WW2.
Harold died on the 2nd of June 1965 in Middlesex, England.
