Record of Service:
William Tremayne was born about 1874 in Gorran, Cornwall. He attested for the British army on the 17th of January 1896 and was allocated service number 29691. He served as a Sapper with the 1st Telegraph Division, Royal Engineers during the Boer War from the 30th of November 1899 to the 16th of October 1902.
William was discharged on the 16th of January 1908. For his service in South Africa, he is entitled to the QSA with three clasps – Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal and the KSA with SA01 & SA02.
