Record of Service:
Rupert Snape was born in 1947. He joined the Australian Regular Army and was allocated service number 1200123. He served with the 4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment during the Indonesian Confrontation. He is listed in “Our Secret War” as having served in A Company.
Rupert arrived in Kuching on the 29th of April 1966 and departed from Singapore on the 4th of September 1966. His medal was awarded on the 11th of November 1966 and sent to him at his Holland Park address in Brisbane.
Rupert died in Brisbane on the 18th of January 2024.
Included with Rupert’s service medals is a Bisley Rifle Championship medal “Class H” which he won in England in 1974.
