    Record of Service:

     

    Alfred Williams was born on the 20th of December 1896 in Albury, New South Wales. He was working as an Engineer in South Melbourne when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 31st of December 1917. He was allocated service number 39723 and embarked from Sydney on the 30th of April 1918 with the 35th Reinforcements, Field Artillery Brigade.

     

    Alfred disembarked in Egypt on the 7th of June 1918 and proceeded overseas to France on the 4th of October 1918. On the 11th of October 1918 he was taken on strength with the 5th Divisional Ammunition Column and on the 26th of October 1918 transferred to the 14th Field Artillery Brigade, 114th Battery.

     

    Alfred returned to Australia on the 8th of July 1919 and was discharged on the 25th of September 1919.
