    Record of Service:

     

    Alfred Beale was born about 1882 in Birmingham, England. He emigrated to Australia on the 20th of April 1912 and was working as a Carpenter when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 30th of January 1917. On enlistment Alfred stated that he had 8 years previous military service in the Navy. He was allocated service number 35015 and embarked from Melbourne on the 9th of November 1917 with the 27th Reinforcements, Field Artillery Brigade.

     

    Alfred disembarked at Southampton on the 4th of January 1918 and proceeded overseas to France on the 17th of July 1918. On the 15th of August 1918 he was taken on strength with the 12th Field Artillery Brigade. Alfred survived the war and took leave in Paris on the 25th of January 1919.

     

    Alfred returned to Australia on the 19th of June 1919 and was discharged on the 29th of August 1919.
