    Stanley Pidd was born on the 3rd of March 1896 on Pimpama Island, Queensland. He was working as a Labourer in Nerang when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 5th of August 1915. He was allocated service number 1820 and embarked from Sydney on the 21st of October 1915 with the 12th Reinforcements, 5th Light Horse Regiment.

     

    Stanley was taken on strength with the 5th Light Horse Regiment on the 23rd of February 1916 and was on strength with the Regiment for the Battle of Romani. On the 17th of November 1916 he was admitted to hospital (ingrown toe nail) and returned to the Regiment on the 15th of December 1916.

     

    Stanley was on strength with the 5th L.H.R for both Battles of Gaza and shortly after, on the 1st of May 1917, was admitted sick to hospital. Stanley returned to the Regiment and served with the 5th L.H.R for the duration of the war and was on strength with them during the Egyptian Uprising in 1919. He returned to Australia on the 28th of June 1919 and was discharged from 1 M.D on the 27th of September 1919.

     

    Stanley served at home during WW2 (Q155410) with the L of C Signals. He died on the 9th of July 1971.
