Roy Hardie was born on the 11th of October 1932 in Perth, Western Australia. He enlisted in the ARA on the 20th of July 1953, was allocated service number 52694 and joined the AACC.
Roy served in Korea with the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment from the 12th of January 1955 to the 7th of January 1956. He served during the Vietnam War as a W.O II with the 4th Filed Regiment from the 5th of February 1968 to the 13th of April 1968 and the 12th Field Regiment from the 14th of April 1968 to the 25th of February 1969.
Roy was awarded the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal as a W.O Class II in May 1974. He discharged as a W.O Class I from the army on the 19th of July 1979 and died in Everton Park, Queensland on the 8th of September 2010.
