Record of Service:
John Bell was born on the 3rd of August 1898 in Townsville, Queensland. He was working as a Plumber in Brisbane when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 2nd of July 1917. He was allocated service number 4045 and embarked from Sydney on the 1st of August 1917 with the 11th Reinforcements, 4th Pioneer Battalion.
John disembarked at Liverpool on the 3rd of October 1917 and on the 6th of March 1918 proceeded overseas to France. On the 13th of March 1918 he was taken on strength with the 4th Pioneer Battalion.
John survived the war and returned to Australia on the 5th of September 1919.
